About
I am an award-winning Multimedia Production Specialist with the Voice of America in Washington, D.C.
My primary responsibility is the timely and professional editing of television, radio, and web reports for broadcast in over 45 languages, to VOA's estimated worldwide audience of 125 million people. I work directly with correspondents and reporters in Washington and as far away as Jerusalem, Johannesburg, and Beijing.
Additionally, I have significant experience shooting video and still photography, and I am branching out into the world of field producing, as well.
I am a graduate of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill ('07), where I majored in Electronic Communication and minored in Classical Studies.
Before beginning my professional career, I participated in the Habitat Bicycle Challenge, riding a bicycle from New Haven, Connecticut to Portland, Oregon to raise money and awareness for Habitat for Humanity.

Through video and still photography, on television, radio, and the web, my job is telling stories.
As a Multimedia Production Specialist at the Voice of America, I have become extremely proficient with Final Cut Pro and honed my talents as a writer, videographer, and photographer. Being based in Washington, D.C. and working for a major international broadcaster like VOA gives me access to some of the most important and influential stories worldwide, and has taught me how to tailor each aspect of a multimedia report to as many people as possible.
Additionally, I write for CarolinaBlue.com, CarolinaBlue Magazine, and the 247Sports Network. I speak with some of the nation's top high school football players to learn the latest news on their recruitment and write articles and profiles on them for CarolinaBlue.com. In the monthly CarolinaBlue magazine, I have a recurring column that highlights the latest football recruiting news as it relates to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
I graduated from UNC in 2007 with a B.A. in Electronic Communication. While in Chapel Hill, I spent three years working with Carolina Week, a student-run, Emmy-winning, live newscast. I was honored nationally for some of the individual sports reports I assembled, as well as full sportscasts and newscasts I produced.
